Our Pastor

Pastor Joey Clark

Saved Young — Pastor Joey Clark was saved at age 4 at the Peach Bowling Alley in Greer, South Carolina while waiting in the car on his father to finish bowling. After hearing the song, "Jesus is Coming Soon," on the radio, Joey came under conviction and began to question his mother about salvation. She explained the gospel message to him, and Joey accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour.

Called to Youth Ministry — In November 1992, Pastor Joey began working with young people at Bible Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina. After a year and a half, he attended a youth conference at Northside Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina called "Youth Alive '94." On June 14, 1994, under the preaching of Dr. Johnny Pope, Joey totally surrendered his life to the Lord and to work in youth ministry.

Years of Service — After serving in the youth ministry at Bible Baptist Church from 1992–1999, Pastor Joey became Youth Director at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina, serving until 2001. From 2001–2004, he served as Youth Director at Gray Court Owings Baptist Church and then returned to Bible Baptist Church in Simpsonville to pastor the Teen Church. After 15 years of working with young people, it was through the nursing home ministry that God gave him the desire to pastor. Pastor Joey made that surrender and call public on May 11, 2007.

Planting Landmark Baptist Church — In February 2011, Pastor Joey and his family stepped out on faith to plant a church in Woodruff, South Carolina. On May 17, 2011, God opened that door, and Landmark Baptist Church held its first service in the Woodruff Community Center. On April 22, 2012 — eleven months later — Landmark held its charter service and became an official Fundamental Baptist church. Since that time, God has blessed, and the congregation has continued to grow.
