Churches shouldn’t rent their own tools.
Most church management platforms charge monthly fees for tools that should be free. Member directories, event calendars, sermon archives, giving reports: these aren’t luxury features. They’re basic operations. And the data belongs to the church, not a SaaS provider.
FaithKit is the open-source answer. Self-hosted on your own server, managed by your own people, owned outright. No vendor lock-in. No surprise price increases. No platform that disappears when the company behind it pivots.
This project comes from personal experience. My uncle Joey’s church welcomed me back with the right amount of judgment when I had nothing. I’ve been building for churches and ministries ever since, not as a transaction, but because I understand what these communities mean to the people inside them.
02 What’s included
Everything a church actually needs.
Member Directory
Private, searchable directory for the congregation. Members get in with a shared PIN; leaders manage everything from a separate admin login.
Event Planning
Service schedules and special events, managed from the admin. No external calendar subscription required.
Sermon Archives
Upload recordings and organize them by series and speaker. Members can search and listen back to past messages.
Radio Station
Upload a service recording and FaithKit slices it into clips that play on your homepage. The slicer needs Python and ffmpeg, or run it on a laptop and upload the clips.
Prayer Lists
Shared and private prayer requests. Congregation members submit, leaders review and distribute. No social media required.
Self-Hosted
Runs on your own hosting. Ordinary PHP 8, with your data in plain files you own. Your IT volunteer can manage it. No telemetry, no phone-home.

Free to use. Donate if it helps. Never SaaS.
The code is free. Download it, install it, modify it. No license fees, no restrictions on how many members or how many churches.
If FaithKit helps your church, donate what you can. If you can’t, use it anyway. The goal is ministry, not margin.
Need help getting it set up? $300/hr for hands-on installation, configuration, and training. One-time cost, then it’s yours.
Built on the most widely supported web stack in the world. Runs on ordinary PHP 8 hosting. No exotic dependencies, no container orchestration, no DevOps degree required.
